Today, we’ll be talking about shelter. Shelter is extremely important, giving you a place to live and survive. Personally the best place to stay would be a military base, but since they’re most likely overrun it’s not such a good idea. Another place could be the wilderness. While this will prove a challenge, if you can master the woods, it’s perfect. Lots of creatures for food, shelter from storms and generally the zombies for a while. Cities and towns are death traps. Zombies will inhabit every corner of the town, proving scavenging and finding shelter a challenge. If you manage to survive in a metropolitan area, kudos to you. Shelter with strong, reinforced walls and windows is essential. Doors and windows should be sealed. Make it a fortress, but don’t forget, if for any reason the undead get inside, you need a quick and clean escape plan. Use a certain door, window or ladder to escape the horde. Never try and go back to gather supplies after you left. The undead will still be in the house, shambling around, leaving no room for you to get back in. Basically if you’re overrun, don’t try and go back to the shelter. It belongs to the dead now. Shelter=survival and the only way you can make sure you survive is by fortifying the shelter beyond belief.
